Select Board · Meeting of September 8, 2026

Blandford Select Board reverts to 6 p.m. meetings after resident pushback. The board, chaired by Jacqueline Coury, unanimously undid an earlier shift to a 4 p.m. start after members said working residents couldn't attend, with one member admitting "I had no idea... this was going to cause this level of concern." Corinne Shartrand was reappointed the board's liaison to the Community Development Coordination committee, abstaining from her own vote. Fire Chief Adam won approval to spend roughly $15,000 rebuilding Engine 1's transmission rather than rush a nearly $700,000 truck purchase.

The board signed $9,500 and $6,500 repair contracts with Greenwood for the Town Hall roof and post office chimney, and heard the highway department's $259,090 Chapter 90 application for a new equipment storage canopy. The board also authorized a special town meeting article to fund cell phones for department-head positions and continued its long-stalled firehouse-highway garage building debate to a fall informational session.
