Blandford Select Board Approves Snow Policy, Finance Software Grant Application

BLANDFORD -- September 25, 2023, Blandford Select Board adopts snow and ice policy, backs cloud-finance software grant. The board voted unanimously Monday to approve a new snow and ice management policy establishing a tiered plowing priority system, with Town Administrator TJ Rodgers and Highway Superintendent Dave Seccombe clarifying that the tiers reflect priority rather than a rigid route sequence. The board also unanimously backed a Community Compact grant application for cloud-based municipal finance software, with one vendor quoting a one-time cost of roughly $60,000 and ongoing operating costs projected at about half the town's current expenditure; the application is due October 13. The board accepted the resignation of Andrew Cannon, effective approximately October 9, with no replacement yet identified. Early planning is underway for a PARC grant of up to $100,000 for Watson Park improvements, and building condition assessments, quoted at roughly $20,000 for town hall alone, are being explored using remaining ARPA funds.
