Blandford Select Board Approves Licenses, Plowing Deals, Enters Union Talks
Blandford Select Board approves 2025 liquor licenses and winter plowing contracts, then enters union talks.
BLANDFORD -- November 18, 2024, Blandford Select Board approves 2025 liquor licenses and winter plowing contracts, then enters union talks. The board unanimously approved liquor licenses for the Blandford Country Club and Blandford Country Store for 2025, authorized plowing agreements for Maple Lane and Eagle Club, and signed multiple payroll and expenditure warrants at the November 18 meeting. Town Administrator Christina reported that a $39,000 apparent deficit in the town's CDBG grant account was resolved through voided duplicate checks, and that roughly $13,000 in road permitting costs for the Beachill project can be deferred after the town received no construction-phase grant funding against an expected $100,000 award. The board also heard from community volunteer George, who completed the Watson Park and Bicentennial Park improvement project and pressed the board to incorporate park management into the new highway superintendent job description, while also raising unresolved questions about a reported $77,000 donation from Winterford Arms held in a Bicentennial Park trust fund with no recent public accounting.
