Blandford Select Board Approves Eight Appointments, Defers Water Pay Decision

BLANDFORD — June 23, 2025 — Blandford Select Board approves eight annual appointments and tables two unresolved compensation disputes. The board voted unanimously Monday to reappoint Sarah Hunter-Mass Munifin as treasurer-tax collector, Jennifer Gerard as safety director, Christina Ferreira as both town administrator and ADA coordinator, Robert Holmes as interim highway laborer, Aaron Toteet as plumbing and gas inspector, accountant CK, and Colleen Doyle to the Conservation Commission for a three-year term through 2028, all effective July 1. In the meeting's most substantive exchange, members reached a preliminary consensus to pay interim water superintendent Steve — currently earning $25.81 per hour for 37.5 hours per week — at the town-meeting-approved superintendent rate of roughly $40 per hour for 19 of those hours, with his current rate applying to the remainder, pending a joint session with the absent Water Commission. A separate request from salaried highway employee Ray for comp time after working the Juneteenth holiday on a pre-scheduled paving job on South Street was referred to town counsel after members split on whether the town's personnel policy covers salaried employees — and whether a ruling in his favor would require the town to examine past holiday pay practices across all departments.
