Blandford Select Board Picks Library Architect, Names Conservation Agent
BLANDFORD — April 28, 2025 — Blandford selects library architect and appoints conservation agent at busy April meeting. The Select Board voted unanimously Monday to approve DRA — Drummy, Rosane and Anderson — as architect for the design phase of the Blandford Memorial Library project, following a competitive process that drew 40 initial responses and was managed by owner's project manager Sconska. DRA's contract price came in at $118,000, below an initial estimate of $125,000 and within Massachusetts Board of Library Commissioners guidelines; the firm has completed 58 libraries in Connecticut and Western Massachusetts and 11 projects with the MBLC specifically. The full contract returns for a board vote at the May 5 meeting pending legal review. The board also unanimously appointed Shannon Fulin as conservation agent through June 30, 2026, after Fulin was described as currently serving four Berkshires towns in the same role, and accepted the resignation of Select Board member Jeff Allen effective April 15, 2025.
