Blandford Select Board Adopts Inclement Weather Policy, Names Energy Siting Engineer

BLANDFORD — December 29, 2025 — Blandford Select Board approves inclement weather policy and appoints retired engineer to Energy Siting Committee. The board voted unanimously at its December 29 meeting to adopt a new inclement weather policy directing town employees to follow Gateway Regional School District closure announcements as the primary signal, with email as a backup notification channel and no provision for making up missed hours. Dave Converse, a retired utility-scale energy systems engineer with a professional engineer's license in energy, was appointed to the Energy Siting Committee for a term through December 30, 2026. The board also approved a $2,249.50 invoice from Automated Logic for town hall heating repairs and directed payment from the $50,000 town building condition account, noting the town has operated without a preventative maintenance agreement since the heating system was installed. A DPU public hearing on the Eversource substation expansion project remains unscheduled, with the town gymnasium held for February 3 and February 11 as a snow date but no formal confirmation received from hearing officer Connor Tarr as of the meeting date.
